MetroLINK, Rock Island County’s Metropolitan Mass Transit bus service, needed a larger, updated space. This $22 million, 150,000 SF facility houses all MetroLINK’s administrative and maintenance offices, training areas and fitness center. Diesel & CNG fueling, paint booths, vehicle lifts, a bus wash, vehicle lubrication system, a methane gas detection system and cranes and lifts were some of the components of this project.
The goal of this project was to create a LEED Silver Certified facility featuring a PV Solar Array System, a Solar Thermal Hot Water System, a Water Reclamation System at the bus wash, bio-swales, native grasses, management of construction waste, and the use of recycled materials.
The Maintenance Facility also featured some unique systems such as Diesel & CNG Fueling and Management Systems, paint booths, vehicle lifts, cranes & hoists, a Bus Wash System, Vehicle Lubrication Systems, and a Methane Gas Detection System.
Due to the Owner’s desire for sustainable construction and the unique function of the completed building, there were many challenging components associated with this project. With the help of our highly regarded team of subcontractors and suppliers, who are recognized leaders in their respective fields, Bush Construction rose to the challenge.
