With a design-build method of project delivery, design and construction services are both contracted through Bush Construction. You receive the benefit of having a single point of responsibility from project inception to completion. Design-build is a highly collaborative process optimizing our team’s communication and internal coordination abilities. This approach can reduce the overall project schedule by overlapping the project’s design and construction phases, resolving issues quickly, and minimizing change orders. This delivery method can be complex for many contractors to manage. But Bush Construction’s experienced design-build team makes this an efficient and highly successful option for both large and small projects.
Preconstruction Services are used to successfully plan a project before the actual construction starts. The design team will establish an effective line of communication with you. Our expert team determines the level of preconstruction services desired by you. Our involvement can be as simple as compiling a qualified subcontractor/supplier list or as involved as completely managing all aspects of preconstruction. Whatever the level of engagement, projects receive the time and attention needed for successful planning.
We offer two variations of the Construction Management delivery method: Construction Manager as Agent (CMa) and Construction Manager as Constructor (CMc).
- Construction Manager as Agent
In the CMa method, the team at Bush Construction writes the trade agreements between the owner and the trade contractors, acting as a consultant or “agent” of the owner. We also coordinate the work onsite, ensure timely completion, and enforce the safety and quality control programs. This method is best suited for larger, more complex construction projects and is popular on publicly funded projects. The CMa method is most successful when Bush can assign experienced project and field management staff who are committed to management excellence and client satisfaction.
- Construction Manager as Constructor
The CMc method provides strong advantages for owners. Bush Construction is hired during the pre-construction phase to work with the owner and architect to provide scheduling, estimating, and constructability services. Bush will also reviews bids, awards contracts, manages subcontractors, and oversees construction from the start through completion. Our experience in this delivery method, combined with our strong industry relationships, allows us to deliver cost-effective and high-quality construction solutions.
