President / CEO
As President / CEO of Bush Construction, A.J. Loss provides strategic direction, develops client and vendor relationships, and acts as a unifying team leader. A.J. believes that effective communication is the key to lasting relationships and successful projects.
Loss served an enlistment in the United States Navy before earning his Construction Engineering degree from Iowa State University. He also holds a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Iowa. In 2008, he became a USGBC-LEED Accredited Professional. In 2009, he earned the Designated Design-Build Professional™ certification.
Loss is a proud and active member of the Quad Cities community where he resides with his wife and three children. He has served as Chair of Our Savior Lutheran Church’s Building and Grounds Committee; Chair of the Master Builders of Iowa and Chair of the Associated General Contractors (AGC) of the Quad Cities. He currently serves as Chair of the Development Association of Rock Island (DARI); Vice Chair of Bridge Investments; Secretary, Chair of the Audit Committee, Regional Opportunities Council (ROC) member, Finance Committee member, and Iowa Growth PAC member of the Quad Cities Chamber of Commerce; Vice-Chair of the Regional Development Authority (RDA), YWCA Quad Cities Facility Capital Campaign Advisory Council member, and an Architectural Review Committee member of Greater Davenport Redevelopment Corporation (GDRC). Senior Vice President
Jerod Engler, Senior Vice President, leads our project pursuit team. He provides guidance to our potential clients as they determine the best solutions for their projects. Jerod ensures our customers receive exceptional care throughout the pre-construction and design phase of projects.
Jerod has a Bachelor of Science degree in Construction Management with a minor in Business Management from the University of Northern Iowa. He also completed a four-year carpenter apprenticeship training program and is an experienced member of the construction industry. In 2009, he became a USGBC-LEED Accredited Professional.
Jerod is active in the Quad Cities community. He is a member of the Quad Cities Chamber of Commerce and an associate member of Professional Developers of Iowa.LinkedIn Profile
Vice President of Operations
Rob Davis, Vice President of Operations, supervises our team of Project Managers, Project Engineers, and Project Coordinators. Rob’s duties include performance and risk management, in addition to running Bush Construction’s employee training and Intern programs and oversight of many other company initiatives.
Davis earned his Bachelor of Science in Construction Management and a minor in Drafting and Design from the University of Wisconsin-Platteville. He has received a number of construction-related designations including Associated General Contractors Lean Certification, USGBC-LEED Accredited Professional, Certified Professional Estimator through the American Society of Professional Estimators, and most recently the Master Builder Achievement award from Master Builders of Iowa.
Davis is an active member of the Quad Cities community. His many affiliations and activities include the East Moline-Silvis Rotary Club, Master Builders of Iowa, the American Society of Professional Estimators, as well as being a former Hampton School District Board of Education secretary and member, Rock Island County Pheasants Forever Chapter chairperson, and a coach of various youth sports teams.LinkedIn Profile
